Selection of zippers according
to materials and usage

| Q. For
example, when the No.3 zipper was used for thick fabrics over 12 ounces,
the fabric or pull-tab broke. A. Use No.4 or higher zipper for thicker fabrics.(use No.3 for thinner fabrics.) Q. The notch lock slider (shoulder stop) dropped when it was used for the front of an outer garmenr. A. Use an automatic slider that locks automatically for the front of a garment (the CA slider and the FA slider give variety to pull-tabs.) Q. A slider slipped off the top stop of the VISLON open-end zipper used for an outer garment. A. 1.Wash the garment with zipper closed. 2. Specify "NEWKOB2", a special item for preventing sliders from slippinf off. Q. If the pinlock (DP) slider id used for a pocket, there as a danger of injury from protecting part. A. Avoide using the pinlock slider. Use the DA type (Automatic) slider or the DF type (non-lock) slider. |

Washing treatment

and tore because of the chemicals in the wash. A. 1. Use the YG type (No.3 - No.5), which is relatively resistant to washing process. 2. Rinse thoroughly to ensure acids do not remain on the zipper after washing 3. Test beforehand because the washing process and the chemical can have unexpecded effects. Q. A slider broke when DA type was used for an article given washing treatment. A. 1. If washing treatment is given with the zipper open, the slider can be hoocked and broken in the tumbler. 3. Wash with GA slider (semi-automatic). |

chloride, sysnthetic leather or the plastic-coated cloth. A. Insert paper between articles.Also, store carefully. |

elements of the zippers (N,G,B) became black and adhesive to the cloth,
as the elements were made of copper alloy. A. 1. Because of the properties of copper, copper alloy goes black when oxidized . Do not seal articles in polyethyllene bags or corrigated boxes and store products away from moisture. 2. Use Balazip or Ever Bright,which are resistant to discoloration, because each of their elements is surface treated. Q. When zippers were stored in bundles held together with rubber bands, the area under the rubber band discolored. A. Avoid using rubber bands to store zippers for prolonged periods. |

Stain

a brown or black was used, the portion of the cloth coming in contact with
the zipper was stained. A. When an acid substaince or an oxidizer remains th the cloth or in thematerial after dying or finishing, the cloth coming in conatct with zipper may stain due to chemical changes. Use only cloth and material that have be thoroughly washed after treatment. Q. Parafin melted when the heat of an iron reach the cloth and stain occured. A. Elements of the zippers are finished with parafin to facilate sliding . When ironing, place paper or cloth on the part coming in contact with the zipper. |

| Q. A zipper
made of or coated nickel caused an allergic reatiion on direct contact with
skin. A. When a silver-colored metal zipper is required, choose an aliminium zipper. Specify an "anti-nickel" zipper when placing an order. |

Form-fixing treatment

form-fixing treatment such as VP procing was given, the zipper discolored
or corroded. A. When applying VP traetment , use item that are relatively resistant to corrosion. For SSP or double action (as well as for VP processing), please test beforehand. |

VISLON =130 C, EFLON = 150 C CONCEAL = 160 C . When pressing , check the heat-resistant of the zipper, then place cloth over the zipper. |

Q. Zipper do not work smoothly after bio-treatment.
A. Depending on the chemicals used in the bio-treatment, teh zipper can corrode. Be sure to test the zippers beforehand. |
